The Volcano Room
Indianapolis In

So we showed up at the Volcano Room at 6:30. No one was there. We waited, got some food - 7pm -- no one was there. Hrm. People began to show up, but still the place was locked and remained dark. Hrm.

But eventually PJ and Kathie showed up and we unloaded equipment. We met with the 'national' act, the Falling - all one of 'em. It seems that Mr Falling (As we came to know him) had been left to tour with out the rest of the band - something about one of them building their moms website. You had to give him credit tho - he came from Tennessee to tour by himself.

Dead Letter Auction continued to fail to arrive, so PJ kicked off the evening performing solo material as Agent 7. For those who don't know, Agent 7 is the front man for Destination Earth! If you haven't picked up this smarlty produced and well played CD from DE!, then you had better get to it! http://www.destinationearth.htmlplanet.com/

Mr Falling took to the stage next, with a quirky bit of stand up which passed for nervous banter in between really really passionate accoustic numbers - mostly about many things all at once. Almost every song seemed to have been composed while driving. It was good stuff. It would have been interesting to hear the music with a band behind it. http://www.nokarma.com/thefalling/

Band? .. band... OH YEAH! We're the only true band playing that night then. I almost felt bad unleashing the Marshall amp on the room after hearing such quiet music. But we had a job to do, and we did it. The best part of the eve was hearing Jarrod, fuck up - which absolutely never happens. :)

In the end, the room thinned to about 4 people and Kathie and PJ. It's a bit frustrating, but I guess we're not quite the Emo-Core that the Volcano Room is used to. And sure it was a week night and the hour was getting late, but not so late that anyone would miss their curfew. It's a bit dissapointing, but I suppose it all comes with being rather unrecognized.

Damn - I'm tired
